Kentucky Housing Corporation, in conjunction with the Southeastern Affordable Housing Management Association (SAHMA), hosts an annual conference for housing professionals from around the State. The conference is held in May of each year and is conducted at the Galt House in Louisville, Kentucky. The conference was developed over thirty years ago to provide property owners, management agents, and on-site professionals the opportunity to attend educational sessions and network with other industry partners. Conference is an opportunity to share ideas and experiences, interact with peers, and obtain a better understanding of the different program areas and requirements. Conference is also a great opportunity to meet HUD project managers and the Kentucky Housing staff who are involved with the properties.
In 1996, the first charity was designated at the conference. Since this time, the Housing Management Conference has contributed to a charitable organization that helps people throughout Kentucky. Over $123,237.00 has been raised to help great charity organizations such as, the Kentucky Special Olympics, Kosair Children’s Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates, Dream Factory, Kentucky Cancer Program, National Fallen Firefighters, Foundation Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy, the Kentucky Chapter of the American Diabetes Association, Cystic Fibrosis, the Kentucky Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association, and the Indian Summer Camp. All money raised is derived from donations by conference attendees along with outside fundraising activities & events at the conference. We are very proud to be a part of such wonderful organizations.
